Test results

When you have a test ordered by us, you can expect our clinical staff to send you a text message (sms) if this is something you have enabled with the surgery to inform you of the result of your test once we have recieved and filed the result.

Please note that if patients contact the surgery by phone that this is done after 12:00 to avoid blocking the phone lines during busy appointment times.

When you attend for a test of any kind you will be told how long you should expect to wait for the results.

As a rough guide we advise the following;

Blood tests - 2-3 days

Urine and Fecal Samples - 3-5 days

Specimens (nail clippings, tissue samples) 3-7 days

X-Rays - 10 - 14 days

Ultrasound Scans - 10-14 days

Please bear this in mind and only call the surgery after sufficient time has elapsed.

Our reception staff are not qualified to comment on results therefore it is your responsibility to check them and make any necessary follow-up appointment with the doctor.

Patients are able to view their test results themselves via the SystmOnline Website or the NHS App.

Please note that we do have a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. In this respect we will only give out results to the person they relate to unless that person has given prior permission for their release or if they are not capable of understanding them.

To obtain a consent to share information form please ask Reception.
