Childhood Immunisations
It is important that your children are fully immunised. The recommended schedule is:
Eight weeks old
Diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), polio, Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) and hepatitis B
Meningococcal group B (MenB)
Rotavirus gastroenteritis
Twelve weeks old
Diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio, Hib and hepatitis B
Pneumococcal (13 serotypes)
Rotavirus
Sixteen weeks old
Diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio, Hib and hepatitis B
Men B
One year old (on or after the child’s first birthday)
Hib and MenC
Pneumococcal
Measles, mumps and rubella (German measles)
MenB
Eligible paediatric age group1
Influenza (each year from September)
Three years four months old or soon after

The Health Authority will notify parents of pre-school children when their immunisations are due. These immunisations are usually given on Wednesday mornings by appointment. Please telephone reception for this.
